See the Aish Hatorah publication "Eye of a Needle", which points out that
the sun and moon were not created until the fourth day of creation. Clearly
some concept of "day" must apply, other than a period of daylight and a
period of darkness as we earthly inhabitants experience. But most of our
emulation of G-d is metaphorical, as we could never approach His greatness.
