"The Way of G-d"
Part 2: "Divine Providence"
Chapter 8: "The Details of Divine Providence"
Paragraph 5
We'll soon be heading into the recondite area of the nature of the soul, as
well as things connected to it like inspiration, prophecy, and the
supernatural. All that will be coming up next, after our discussion about
how G-d and we interact, because it's by means of the soul itself, and
through inspiration, prophecy, and supernatural phenomena that G-d most
*intensely* interacts with us. And besides, Ramchal paved the way for this
discussion last time when he said that we'll enjoy Divine Inspiration when
the world reaches its ideal state.
In any event, we find that G-d's spiritual interactions with us follow a
pattern, too; and that they're also restricted by place, time, and the
like. Some times of the day, week, and year are more propitious for such
interactions with Him than others, and some places are better than others.
That explains why certain days and places are holier than others -- since
they're more favorable to communing with G-d, to spiritual growth, and to
revelation.
Just know that there are a lot of details involved, and many other things
to factor in. And that all of it has to do with the eventual perfection of
the world.
This completes our discussions about Divine Providence. We go now on to
Part 3 of "The Way of G-d" where we'll indeed delve into the soul,
inspiration, prophecy, and the supernatural.
This series is dedicated to the memory of Yitzchak Hehrsh ben Daniel,
and Sarah Rivka bas Yaakov Dovid.
