"The Way of G-d"

Part 2: “Divine Providence”, Chapter 2: “Mankind in this world”

Paragraph 9

We've managed to shed some light on one of the most perplexing of ethical and spiritual paradoxes-- why the righteous often suffer and the wrongful prosper. And we've done what we could to temper the hearts of those who deny there being a G-d in the world or Divine justice, Heaven forfend.

But what would ever bring a person to such a hapless conclusion? The simple fact that he or she had never been exposed to the grander scheme of things. For after all, once one factors in a whole other stage upon which the drama of life plays itself out-- The World to Come-- a plethora of factors and phenomena come to light. And the very real conclusion that there's indeed a G-d who's almighty and just shines.

The truth be known, though, the righteous *do* often prosper in their lifetimes, we're happy to assert. We'll delve into that in the following chapter. As well as into the whole issue of right and wrong; the struggles we all have doing what's right, and the impediments we often face; the reason why certain stumbling blocks are laid at our feet at times, while we're allowed free reign to achieve our spiritual goals at other times; some other reasons why people suffer; why some people are leaders and others are followers; the ways our chances of reaching spiritual perfection are maximized; and more.

This series is dedicated to the memory of Yitzchak Hehrsh ben Daniel, and Sarah Rivka bas Yaakov Dovid.
